  • Out of 82 Municipalities monitoring national CPI, in April 2019 as many as 77 cities experienced inflation and 5 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Medan Municipality at 1.30 percent and the lowest occurred in Pare-pare Municipality by 0.03 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Manado at -1.27 percent and the lowest in Maumere Municipality, which was -0.04 percent.
  • Kalimantan Utara Province (Kota Tarakan) in April 2019 there was inflation of 0.60 percent with the inflation rate of the calendar year of 0.90 percent and year-on-year inflation of 5.06 percent.
  • Inflation in Kalimantan Utara (Tarakan Municipality) was influenced by the increase in the price index in the foodstuffs group, which was 1.88 percent, the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.76 percent and the health group by 0.21 percent. Meanwhile, those experiencing a decline in the index were in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by -0.05 percent, then the clothing group by -0.05 percent, and the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups by -0.01 percent. While the price index in the education, recreation and sports group remained stable, which was 0.00 percent.
