Abstract

In January 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in North Kalimantan Province of -0.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.29. The highest inflation occurred in Nunukan Regency at 0.22 percent with a CPI of 103.38 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Selor at -0.93 percent with a CPI of 103.52.

The y-on-y inflation in North Kalimantan Province occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.78 percent; clothing and footwear group by 4.66 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.23 percent; health group by 1.63 percent; transportation group by 0.43 percent; education group by 0.47 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.77 percent; personal care and other services group by 5.79 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decrease in the index were the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 12.03 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.04 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.19 percent.

North Kalimantan Province in January had a month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate of -1.35 percent and a year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of -1.35 percent.
