Of the 90 municipalities monitored by the national CPI, in August 2021, 34 municipalities experienced inflation and 56 other municipalities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was found in Kendari Municipality at 0.62 percent while the lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung Municipality at 0.01 percent. The highest deflation was in Sorong Municipality at -1.04 percent and the lowest deflation was in Meulaboh Municipality at -0.03 percent.
Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality) in August 2021 experienced a deflation of -0.37 percent. Tarakan Municipality experienced a deflation of -0.37 percent and Tanjung Selor Municipality experienced a deflation of -0.41 percent.
Deflation in Kalimantan Utara Province (combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality) was influenced by a decrease in the index in the transportation group by -1.53 percent, in the food, beverage and tobacco group by -0.82 percent. Meanwhile, inflation in Kalimantan Utara Municipality (combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality) was influenced by an increase in the index in the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.49 percent, personal care and other services group by 0.37 percent, education group by 0.17 percent, health group by 0.01 percent, clothing and footwear group by 0.00 percent, sports and cultural recreation group by 0.00 percent, food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.00 percent, housing group , water, electricity and household fuel by 0.00 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.00 percent.
