Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the second quarter of 2021 grew 5.81 percent (y-o-y)

Economy of Kalimantan Utar Province based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current market prices in the second quarter of 2021 reached Rp 27.21 trillion and at 2010 constant market prices reached Rp 15.62 trillion.
Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2020 grew 5.81 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, growth was driven by almost all business fields, of which the highest was achieved by the Financial Services and Insurance business sector at 10.26 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Export Component of Goods and Services at 9.59 percent.
Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the first quarter of 2021 grew by 2.17 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, growth was due to the growth of several business fields, the largest of which were Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security by 12.72 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component of 58.46 percent.
Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in semester I-2021 compared to semester I-2020 grew 1.84 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by all business fields, the highest growth was in the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field of 8.52 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component of 4.10 percent.
Spatially, the economy of Kalimantan Island in the second quarter of 2021 grew by 6.28 percent. Kalimantan Barat Province grew the highest at 10.81 percent; followed by Kalimantan Utara Province by 5.81 percent; Kalimantan Timur Province by 5.76 percent; and Kalimantan Tengah Province by 5.56 percent. Meanwhile, Kalimantan Selatan Province had the lowest growth, at 4.40 percent.
On the island of Kalimantan, Economy of Kalimantan Timur contribution is still dominated by 49.56 percent and the lowest is Kalimantan Utara Province at 7.91 percent and the trend is always increasing.
