The economy of Kalimantan Utara Province based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at the current market price for the third quarter of 2020 reached Rp. 25.4 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 15.21 trillion.
The economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the third quarter of 2020 against the third quarter of 2019 contracted 1.46 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, growth has been driven by several business fields, where the highest was achieved by the electricity and gas supply business field at 19.74 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation component of 0.49 percent.
The economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the third quarter of 2020 against the second quarter of 2020 grew by 2.99 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, growth was caused by an increase in several business fields, the largest being the Electricity and Gas Procurement business field by 13.46 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth was attributed to the component of Gross Fixed Capital Formation at 5.51 percent.
Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province, quarter I to. III-2020 compared to the first quarter to the first quarter. III-2019 grew by 0.06 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by almost all business fields, with the highest growth being in the Other Services business sector at 11.26 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth was in the Export of Goods and Services component, which grew by 1.68 percent.
Spatially, the economic growth of Kalimantan Island in the third quarter of 2020 grew by 2.85 percent. The increase in growth was mainly due to the economic growth of all provinces. The highest growth occurred in Kalimantan Barat Province, amounting to 4.89 percent; followed by Kalimantan Selatan Province 3.26 percent; Kalimantan Utara Province 2.99 percent; Kalimantan Timur Province 2.39 percent; and Kalimantan Tengah Province 1.69 percent.
On the island of Kalimantan, the economic contribution was still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province at 46.97 percent and the lowest was Kalimantan Utara Province at 8.27 percent but the trend was always increasing.
