In August 2020, total commodity exports through the port in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 70.51 million, a decrease of 5.19 percent compared to the conditions in July 2020 which reached US $ 74.37 million. The export value for the January-August 2020 period reached US $ 636.21 million or decreased by 6.66 percent compared to January-August in 2019.
The decline in exports in August 2020 compared to August 2020 was caused by a decline in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the Industrial sector by 14.09 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2020 reached US $ 3.49 million or decreased compared to imports in July 2020. When compared to the January-August 2019 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province for the January-August 2020 period decreased by 14.16 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2020 was dominated by non-oil and gas goods, mainly industrial products.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2020 was a surplus of US $ 67.02 million, an increase of 3.34 percent when compared to the trade balance in July 2020 which was a surplus of US $ 64.86 million.
