The number of poor people in Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2020 was 51.79 thousand (6.80 percent). In September 2019 the poor people totaled 48.61 thousand (6.49 percent), meaning the number of poor people increased by 3.2 thousand people or an increase of 0.31 percent.
During September 2019 – March 2020, the poverty line rose by 1.98 percent, from Rp. 667,833, - per capita per month in September 2019 to Rp. 681,035, - per capita per month in March 2020.
In the period September 2019 – March 2020, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) decreased, from 1,122 in September 2019 to 0.839 in the March 2020 situation. Likewise, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) decreased from 0.269 to 0.169.
In March 2020, the level of inequality of population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.292. This figure does not change when compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio.
In March 2020, the distribution of the lowest 40 percent population expenditure was 22.51 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the category of low inequality.
