The number of poor people in Kalimantan Utara Province in September 2020 was 52.70 thousand (7.41 percent). In March 2020 the number of poor people was 51.79 thousand (6.80 percent), meaning that the number of poor people increased by 0.9 thousand people or an increase of 0.61 percent.
During March – September 2020, the poverty line increased by 2.05 percent, from Rp. 681,035, - per capita per month in March 2020 to Rp. 694,964, - per capita per month in September 2020.
In the period March – September 2020, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) experienced an increase, from 0.839 in the condition of March 2020 to 0.859 in the situation of September 2020. Likewise, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) increased from 0.169 to 0.186.
In September 2020, the level of inequality in population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.300. This figure increases when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020.
In September 2020, the distribution of expenditure for the bottom 40 percent of the population group was 22.72 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low level of inequality category.
