Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Tana Tidung Regency in 2021 reached 67.76 or an increase of 0.79 points compared to 2020, which was 66.97. This increase was caused by an increase in the Health Index (Life Expectancy), Education Index (Expected Years of Schooling and Average Years of Schooling) and Decent Living Standards (Per Capita Expenditure adjusted).If the HDI of Tana Tidung Regency is compared with the HDI of North Kalimantan Province, the figure is still below the figure for North Kalimantan in 4th place. This is a relatively lagging sequence because it occupies the bottom two parts. This means that the path to achieving the ideal target in the form of complete human development is marked by the quality of human resources, the creation of jobs and business opportunities, the fulfillment of minimum basic needs and other basic needs appropriately, as well as increasing the income and purchasing power of the people of Tana Tidung Regency so that this can be realized immediately still takes a relatively long time.Performance in the health sector. Life Expectancy (AHH) for Tana Tidung Regency in 2021 is 71.49 years. This figure has increased since 2010, and it is hoped that improvements in the health sector will continue to be made to further increase the Life Expectancy Rate (AHH).Performance in education. Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) and Average Years of Schooling for Tana Tidung Regency in 2021 are 12.20 years and 8.80 years respectively. This figure has increased since 2010. Even so, Tana Tidung Regency is still below the figure for North Kalimantan. This can be a basic consideration for policy making, especially in the education sector.Performance in the field of decent living standards. In general, adjusted per capita expenditure in Tana Tidung Regency has increased since 2010 and experienced a decline in 2020 due to the high number of Covid-19 cases. However, since 2021, adjusted per capita expenditure in Tana Tidung Regency has increased, namely IDR 7,676,000;
