Abstract

North Kalimantan's 2024 economy, measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached Rp 146.79 trillion, with a per capita GRDP of Rp 198.43 million. North Kalimantan's economy grew by 4.57 percent in 2024. From the production side, growth was driven by all business sectors, with the highest growth achieved by the Construction sector at 11.95 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in Non-Profit Institutional Households Consumption Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) at 11.60 percent.

North Kalimantan's economy in Q4 2024 compared to Q4 2023 experienced growth of 4.66 percent (year-on-year, y-o-y). From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Construction sector at 16.22 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in Government Consumption Expenditure (PK-P) at 9.70 percent.

North Kalimantan's economy in Q4 2024 compared to Q3 2024 experienced growth of 2.76 percent (quarter-to-quarter, q-to-q). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Public Administration, Defense, and Social Security sector at 12.24 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in Government Consumption Expenditure at 31.81 percent.

Spatially, the economic structure of Kalimantan Island in 2024 was dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 47.29 percent, while North Kalimantan Province had the smallest share at 8.09 percent. In addition to having the largest role, East Kalimantan Province's economic performance recorded the highest growth at 6.17 percent (y-o-y).
